or how to develop creativity and generate ideas for innovation?

It is not easy to come up with a solution that responds to a real problem of the audience. At the workshop you will learn what is the process of service design, which is becoming an increasingly popular approach used by startups, public institutions and global corporations alike to create innovative solutions. The theory will only be a warm-up. This is because first and foremost you will have the opportunity to learn in practice selected tools used in the design process. The workshop will teach you to identify problem areas for which existing solutions are not satisfactory, which creates space for innovative business ideas.
Service design is a holistic and interdisciplinary approach that integrates tools from different fields. It focuses on service design from a user experience perspective, covering all points of contact between the customer and the organization. Service design allows you to look at problems and needs from multiple perspectives, which often leads to breakthrough innovations that go beyond the obvious solutions. This process not only enables business goals, but most importantly ensures that the solutions created truly address authentic user needs.
What will you learn?
During the workshop you will learn a number of practical tools and methodologies that will allow you to:
- Precisely identify the desired change and define measurable project goals
- Deeply understand the potential audience of the offering (going far beyond the standard
- Effectively map the solution’s operating context, taking into account social, economic and technological considerations
- Systematically analyze alternative solutions and select those with the greatest potential
Workshop format
The meeting has the character of a highly interactive workshop, where theory is immediately translated into practice. Work will take place in interdisciplinary teams, allowing for the exchange of diverse perspectives and experiences. Diversity of knowledge and skills in project teams is one of the key factors for success in service design, so we place special emphasis on collaboration between people from different fields of study and with different interests.
Moderator
Agnieszka Mróz has been involved in service design and research in design processes for 8 years. She runs the design and research agency Missing Dot Studio.
Agnieszka designs new services and improves existing ones to meet current and future market needs. She uses the service design approach to design online solutions, communication processes, sales, recruitment, adaptation, customer service, etc.
In addition, she has worked with more than 100 companies and institutions such as Play, Lufthansa Systems Poland, Social Innovation Laboratory and the National Cultural Center.
She is the content manager of the Service Design course at SWPS University and the author of the fiche on the design thinking methodology “How to create products and services? Understanding Design Thinking” and the e-book ‘Practically about service design’.
